Her award certificate will be presented by an appropriate dignitary when it comes in.

Cadets Alexander Heiting and Lennon Mauel were promoted to C/SrA. Cadet Heiting was a member of the squadron's CyberPatriot team and Cadet Mauel was on the Wisconsin Wing Drill Team.

Cadets Jacob Ahlf, Michael Chanda, and Issac Wilke were promoted to C/A1C. Cadets Chanda and Wilke were on the Wisconsin Wing Drill Team.

Waiting for time-in-grade to be completed in 3 more days is Cadet Cody Kuether, who completed the requirements for the Wright Brother's Award and will be promoted to C/SSgt.  Cadet Kuether was a member of the WIWG Drill Team.

The Wisconsin Wing Drill Team took 2nd Place overall at this past weekend's Great Lakes Region Cadet Competition.  They competed against teams from Ohio and Michigan.  The WIWG team placed first in the Innovative Drill and Mile Run events, and second in Standard Drill, Inspection, Panel Quiz, and Volleyball.  Cadet Second Lieutenant Evan Thomsen won the male Fleet Foot award for having the fastest mile run time.

The team was composed of members from Fox Cities, Ozaukee, West Bend, and ColSac.  The members from other units were:

Whether you're a computer guru or novice, we'd like to have you participate in *the* premier national high school computer competition. Registration for this fall's round of CyberPatriot has begun! We can have up to 5 primaries on a team and 5 alternates, but I'd prefer this year to have two separate teams of 5 each so that everyone gets to compete. Competitors must be at least 13 years old and in grades 9-12 (or equivalent if home schooled/in a school that does not make this distinction) as of September 2012.

Lt Col Peter Boulanger and Major T. Schmitt attended Monday's meeting of the Valley Aero Modelers Club. Lt Col Boulanger discussed opportunities for our squadron to work with them to get members interested in r/c model aircraft. Youth membership in VAM is only $10 a year and membership in the parent organization, Academy of Model Aeronautics, is FREE for cadets. 

Cadets 18 and younger can take advantage of FREE membership in the Academy of Model Aeronautics. This is the governing body of r/c aircraft clubs and membership in it is required to join any of the local clubs. Benefits include liability and theft insurance for your r/c activities as well as opportunities to earn college scholarships. Cadets are highly encouraged to fill out the paperwork and join this great aviation organization!

She will receive her commission as a second lieutenant in the United States Army this summer.
